FRODO BAGGINS:  “The central figure of the Lord of the Rings, the Hobbit Frodo was the Ring-bearer who made the heroic odyssey to mount Doom.  His quest to destroy the One Ring was commissioned by the Council of Elrond on behalf of the Free Peoples of Middle-earth.  Born in Buckland, Frodo came to Hobbiton when he was adopted by his cousin, Bilbo Baggins.  Although Bilbo was 78 years his senior, Frodo shared his birth date, September 22^nd.  They also shared talents for writing history, skills in adapting to strange languages and customs, an abundant love of adventure as well as great courage and remarkable fortitude.  Frodo was a simple being suddenly thrust into the center of great events and he rose bravely to meet and conquer every challenge.”
