Bolt Man HeMan Style 5 1/2 in 1986

This is what is written in the "Rulers of the Sun" booklet Written by Michael Brown that came with one of the figures:

"The Legend of Bolt-Man, Molecule Regenerator:  Joe Red Eagle, an Indian student at Iowa's Black Hawk School, often wondered about the great heroes of his heritage.  In competitive sports he often dreamed he was a great Indian Chief or Brave, Joe Red Eagle's thoughtful dreams came true one day.  Joe Never knew his biological mother and father.  He had been raised by his great-great-great-great grandmother.  She often told him stories about what the old West was like.  She told him how the pale-face cowboys came in with guns and stole the land from the Indians.  Joe and his one hundred and thirty-nine year old "mother" as he called her, were of the fighting Apache Bloodline.  The old woman's longevity was a local miracle and the village loved to hear her tales of bravery and courage.  She brought new understanding about the proud legacy of the Indians.

One day she became sick.  On her death bed, she revealed to her young Joe, who was called "Bolt" by all his friends because of this quick athletic abilities, what his nickname would mean to him.  She asked Bolt to pull an old wood box from a wall where it was concealed.  Out of the box she plucked an old turquoise cloth.  It looked plain blue, but it began to glow in her hands.  She placed it around Joe's head and said: "Feather Man, our tribe's last medicine man, gave this to me.  He told me to present it to my sixth generation grandson.  He told me you would be known as Bolt-Man.  Feather Man called this the circle of the great spirits.  It holds the souls of all the great chiefs and Indian Braves of honor.  Their spirits passed through the band as they rowed across the lake of death.  For you now have their power and the ability to heal and recreate the life force of molecules.  Molecules are tiny substances of atoms.  Atoms are a source of potential energy.  You can regenerate or restore that which has lost its energy force.  You need only touch this band to do so.  When you do, two bolts of lightning will pass through your chest like a stroke of light.  Then the spirits of the past will fly over and float above your head and you will be able to change into anyone of the great Indians of your heritage.  The bolts have special powers because whatever you touch with them will be restored."  With those words, his "mother" fell into a deep sleep.

Bolt-Man knew in his heart he would do only good with the power from his head band.  He saw himself standing on a mountain and around him he saw chief Black Hawk, the Fox and Saux leader; Pontiac, chief of the Ottawa; Sitting Bull, chief of the Dakota; leader of the Sioux and his immediate ancestors Geronimo, the brave Apache and his tribal leader Cochise.  He looked around and there was Cherokee, Creek, Seminole, Choctaw, Pawnee, Cheyenne, Navaho, Crow, Ute, and Mohawk all wish him well.  Bolt-Man's confidence, strength, and ability to achieve blossomed.  He heard the pound of drums and war yelp0s from a distant past, and all the warriors smiled and nodded at their SuperHero.

“Digitino, Computer Wizard:   Within a secret government laboratory somewhere in California, a fate-changing operation has been completed.  American scientist stand about an operating table upon which lies a patient.  “Well Doctors, we’ve done it, “said the chief surgeon, Dr. Charles Drew, “all all for the betterment of mankind.  We’ve fused together computerized machines with the living tissues of a human brain.  We now have a man who has half his brain connected with a computer.  We’ve given our fellow scientist Carlos Montanez a great gift today.”

“Tue, Dr. Drew, Carlos’ mathematical abilities were already superior to most, now his logic will be perfect, “said Dr. Maria Gonzalez.  “When our government heard of our plans to make a human machine brain connection, they financed it and gave us permission to seek volunteers.  But who would have thought Carlos Montanez would have so quickly thrown himself forward for such a project,” said Dr. Drew.  “After all he is one of the scientists behind this project.” 

“Look closely, doctors, Notice the incredible light patterns within Carlos.  He now holds the power of a hundred thousand stored computer banks in those lights.  Yet his normal brain and human abilities have not been altered or disturbed.  Yes, Dr. Gonzales, Carlos will use his new computer knowledge and human compassion for the good of man.  He’s going to be a fantastic Superhero.  Let’s remove the electrodes.” 

Carlos lifts himself to a sitting position on the operating table.  “My friends, we’ve done it.” ‘Of course, Dr. Montanez, with you we knew we would succeed. I’m happy to serve science this way.  Now colleagues, I’d like to get to my room and rest before dinner.  With these quick recovery grains, I’m already feeling myself again.”  Carlos returns to his room.  Just as he stretches out on his bed, the room fills with a strange glow.  He sees a vision of the ancient Aztecs and Toltec’s.  Suddenly, the plummed serpent god Quetzacoatl appears:  “Take this key staff and breast plate.  For you now have the power to key into the history of life.  Our computer brain’s knowledge will enable you to quickly solve any problem that confronts you.  When held upwards, the key staff will recharge your digital breastplate.  This will allow you to intercept any data you desire.  You are tuned into the year 2017.  It is the dimension that I come from.  It is where your source of strength lies.  The vast knowledge of the galaxy is now yours”, the voice said in Spanish.

“But what is my mission?” Carlos asks.  “You are to stop Subtractus, the vile villain who uses a disappearing ray in his crime sprees.  He is seeking to drain the world of knowledge so there will be no understanding between mankind and people will begin to destroy each other.  That is his wicked plan.  He erases data and makes things fade away.  You’re the only one who can stop him.  For you have become Digitino, a computer wizard, a mathematical genius.  You are so named Digitino because you are the son of the system of numerals and numbers which are also known as digits.  You can stop his evil program.  You are the king of knowledge.  Stopping the scientific super villain’s Substactus will be a fine way of learning all you new computer powers.  You must seek him out today, without delay!”  “I’m on my way, great Sage.”  “Have no fear, just use your brain and you will always win.””

“Holographo, Futuristic Scientist:  “”Give up you energy bandits and go in for Justice.  You have broken the laws of science,” Holographo, futuristic scientist and master of hologram images say to the two men in the laboratory.  “We refuse to quit, Holographo,” our planet is in need of more chemicals to drive our system and we won’t stop until we have all we need here.”  “Thief, you are aware that with my breast plate I can project and freeze any image that I can see.  I have mastered the science of projection.  Upon my birth in the zone of Azutus, I was thrust out into the open space and as I orbited around each meteor I gained the ability to capture light sources.  That is how I was able to live in outer space as a baby until the time of my youth, I disguised myself as a comet and a meteor and stars and moons.  Those images were frozen on the circles of my chest as I orbited in space.  It is why I was given my name Holographo.  I was named for a hologram which is a three dimensional picture.  This picture is made of a photographic film or paper without the use of a camera.  It consists of a pattern of waves or interference and is created by a split of a light beam.  It is the power to create these pictures that I have.  It is through this hologram that I now receive my powers. 

“My father, the Great Brown One above, gave me the ability to create life movements through imagery.  I am able to mix laser light beams and energy waves to create scenes and pictures.  So I ask you once again to give yourselves to us, before I totally confuse your vision of what is real with what is mere illusion.”   “We too have special powers, Holographo.  We have the ability to smear configurations with our gold pods.  With these pods which shoot from our finger-tips, we can destroy and capture pieces of you light source.  We can then store them and send them back to our planet.  Before you arrived we were almost finished.  We have a job to do.  We’re not giving up.”

Holographo steps out of the darkness so the energy bandits can see him.  “Look forward aliens.  For soon you shall see your future.  Your destiny with tomorrow is about to appear before you.”  Suddenly a video screen appears.  The villains see themselves upon the screen, before a judge.  The judge casts them to a pit, where they spiral downward to a hole that has no bottom.  This is your meeting with tomorrow, bandits, give up now.”  “  Good grief.  That looks just like us.  Now he’s moved that projector thing in front of our faces.”

“Look at your fate.  You can never destroy the side of good.  It exists for too many people.  Here in our laboratory all experiments are done for the continuation of mankind.  We are trying to maintain resources for all generations to come.  There will be no energy for the aliens who commit only wicked deeds.”  Suddenly the men rush from the lab.  Holographo throws an image of a giant one-eyed monster in their way.  One bandit reaches for a set of electrodes.  The electrodes change into growling wolves.  The men scream and crash into a giant reactor.

“When you wake up, my beam will transport you to justice.  Never steal what someone else has worked for, villains.  There will never be a way for your evil to triumph as long as my abilities allow me to stop and freeze deeds when they are meant to cause harm.  I am Holographo, futuristic scientist.””

Pig-Head HeMan Style 5 1/2 in 1986

Pig-Head – Zegor the villainous Prince:  But evil lurked in the Land of the Sun, in the form of Zegor.  Zegor was the rich and villainous Prince of the House of Shadus.  He was known throughout the land as the devious and spiteful lord who spread despair among his workers.  He used his wealth to build torturous chambers in which to punish those who did not obey him.  The workers who remained of purest souls fled, to live among the House of Dynus.  Once a man of handsome features, Zegor was transformed, by the Ruler of the Sun, into a hideous creature – half-man/half-hog and was forever to be called “Pig-Head.”

Pig-Head is an angry creature.  He lives with one burning desire – to bring dishonor and shame to all those who live among him.  He has trained his demons to follow his evil plan.  He and his followers will always lurk beneath the sun and never shall they dwell in the land of paradise.

Pig-Head was banished into the dungeons of Hades, where he forever tries to harness the sun’s beautiful rays and use its power for his evil doings.

Space Sumo HeMan Style 5 1/2 in 1986

This is what is written in the "Rulers of the Sun" booklet Written by Michael Brown that came with one of the figures:

“Legend of Space-Sumo, Telekinetic Ninja:  A few short years ago the governments of the world banned together to create a museum dedicated to the world’s war strategists and athletes.  The idea of such a museum came from an immensely, wealthy Oriental man who appeared suddenly and left the scene just as quickly.  It was his millions that got the “Battle Museum” built.

The World curators of the museum, each from a different county, often spoke of the aged dapper Oriental who refused to tell his name.  He vanished into nothingness, and no records, nothing traceable concerning his where bouts could be found.  At his request, a huge red circular monument was placed in the center of the museum.  This magnificent piece of sculpture looked like a planet and was suspended from the ceiling.  It was impossible to miss when on entered the museum.  The oriental has said the large monument was to be called the “Monument of battle.”  The museum’s builders wondered why the globe was so heavy.  The metal felt light to the touch, but it hung by ten cranes of super coils.  Everyone was perplexed about how the old man got it there in the first place, for he insisted on secrecy and allowed no one around when it was hoisted.  The mystery surrounding the monument was consistent with that surrounding the man himself.

Statues and most other forms of memorabilia were all about the “Battle Museum.”  From the battle in the Bible between David and Goliath, the giant warrior David defeated with a simple string and stone; to Muhammad Ali, warriors and athletes were all surround.  On display was Attila the Hun, Hannibal, Emperor Menelik of Ethiopia, Peter the Great and General Douglas MacArthur, and Bruce Lee.

Bob Wong, a cook at a Chinese restaurant, visited the Battle Museum one day and was amazed at its displays.  When it closed, he hid inside to get a better look and gain an understanding of its treasures.  He soon found himself in front of the monument of battle.  Magically, it opened from its middle and a glowing radiance from within it flooded over the young Oriental’s figure.  A voice speaking Chinese said:  “I am Kim Lee, Bringer of the Monument of Battle.  Bob Wong, you have come, Oh great Chinese one.  We have long awaited your arrival to fulfill your destiny.  You have been known to us for ages as Space Sumo, a wrestler and telekinetic Ninja.  You now have the power to lift objects at will without touching them, but by commanding them to rise with your mind.  That is the meaning of telekinetic, creating motion without touching.  You now possess the fighting skills and strategic wisdom of all competitive geniuses.  Their combined knowledge is now yours.  The combined knowledge of all the sages in this museum is now yours to do good with; you shall be the master of competition, whether it is a mere game of chess or a mental fight for life itself.  You are related through the ages to the great philosophers of the past.  We knew you senses would draw you to the monument which is you destiny.  But you must head this warning.  Each month you are to return here in secret to recharge your skills or you’ll be a normal mortal again.  Each month you must return to be washed in the glow of the warriors to remain superhuman.  Remember this now and forever, you will be known as Space Sumo, telekinetic Ninja.”

“The Legend of Sun-Man continues…   His magical melanin skin gave him unequaled, unlimited, and special super strength.  Sun-Man’s skin could not be cut, burned, bruised, broken, pierced, stabbed, ripped, or removed so Pig-Head the evil wart, was plotting to smoke-out Sun-Man.  He wanted to see if he could weaken Sun-Man’s powerful skin through the smoke from the drugs Pig-Head had just cooked up.  But Sun-Man flies free, protecting the right for the Galaxy-Trefixa to exist in peace.  His rap is clear:  “Pig-Head listen, you’re bad luck.  You won’t win, so just give up.  Sun-Man is on the scene to stay.  My good powers shall rule all the way!  The Battle has just begun…””

Sun-Man J-Hook version HeMan Style 5 1/2 in 1994

This figure is not even made from the mold as the other Sun-Man figures.  Please look at the last picture for more detail.  Also the Olmec logo is post "Bronze Bomber" Olmec logo.  I have only seen two of these come up so far, but not even sure how many of these were made.  There is a little story written on the back of the card-back, but I will need to get more information from Rob, once he is not so busy.

The Legend of Sun-Man:  In Ancient Egypt, thousands of years before Christ, the ruler of the Sun observed that the rich House of Dynus in the Land of the Sun, was fair and kind to its many land workers who built the great pyramids.  Their kindness was known throughout the land.  Prince Sunni Ali, eldest son in the Dynus kingdom, ruled with dignity and intelligence.  This made the Ruler of the Sun very happy. And so, he adopted Sunni Ali as his very own son.

Just then she brought forth a mighty sword.  And in the reflection of its blade was the image of a beautiful floating city nestled in the center of the sun.  Suddenly, her soft voice became the booming chords of the great Ruler of the Sun, and he spoke to his chosen son.  “The sun is the most glorious force in the universe.  And I am its creator.  You, Prince of the House of Dynus, have been righteous and good to those who have toiled your land.  For this I shall make you my son, and you shall be immortal.  You shall live on land I have carved from the earth, and it shall be placed within the sun.  None of the sun’s fiery force shall ever harm you or the Sun-People . . . for within its warmth there is a glorious paradise.  But . . . all those who use the sun to light their evilness, shall fell its furnace.”  A great hand appeared, and in it was the mighty sword.  Swiftly the sword sliced away at an image of the earth. 

“You have ruled justly.  Your fairness will be needed for mankind in the days of wickedness to come.  Beware of Pig-Head, for he is a mean and angry creature.  He lives with one burning desire – to bring dishonor and shame to all those who live among him.  He has trained his demons to follow his evil plan.  He and his followers will always lurk beneath the sun and never shall they dwell in the land of paradise.”

The great Ruler presented Sun-Man with the might sword.  “Whenever you are in need of guidance, reflect our thoughts into the mirrored glow of this blade.  The lovely Shimmering Fairy Hexotica – sister of the great Ruler – will appear to provide the strength you need to rule amongst the evil forces that will always roam the earth.”   He granted Sun-Man, whose bronzed body was masterwork of sculptured nature, the power to fly at light speed.  The great golden wings of the immoral bird Phoenix allow Sun-Man to travel in and out of the sun.  His sin was made invulnerable so that no wickedness might harm him.  Many special powers were bestowed upon him, allowing him to fight for goodness without fear.  Pig-Head was banished into the dungeons of Hades, where he forever tries to harness the sun’s beautiful rays and use its power for his evil doings.

Sun-Man and the Sun-People continue to fight for fairness and righteousness throughout the universe.  Disguised as Sonny Smith, Chief Executive Officer of Gallium Enterprises, Sun-Man lives among us, protecting us, always spreading the beauty of the sun and facing new adventures.
